Service Description

Fee is credited in full toward a future project engagement signed within 90 days. Most homeowners already know they “should do something” about wildfire. What they don't have is a ranked list for their house: what actually ignites first, what they can finish this weekend, and what can wait. Generic wildfire preparedness handouts, blog posts, insurer letters, and common advice treat every lot the same.: ember exposure, roof and vent details, clutter around the home, slope and fuels, driveway access, and how your household would actually leave are not the same on every parcel. This is a one-hour Zoom with a career wildland fire specialist. The product is a property-specific action list covering three things that decide whether a home survives and whether a family gets out: 1. Home hardening - roof, gutters, vents, siding, decks, attachments, and the 0–5 ft noncombustible zone ("Zone 1"). 2. Defensible space - vegetation, ladder fuels, outbuildings, woodpiles, and fencing from 5–30 ft ("Zone 2") and, where applicable, vegetation management out to 100+ ft ("Zone 3"). 3. Evacuation readiness - routes, vehicles, pets/livestock, go-bags, and a simple Ready / Set / Go sequence for your household. You send the address plus photos of the house, roof, vents, decks, siding, "Zone 1" - and yard (phone photos are enough) - from each compass direction. We work from those photos, aerials, hazard maps, local WUI rules where they apply, and 22 years of wildland fire operations, prevention/mitigation, and fire planning work. You leave knowing the five highest-leverage actions, what is optional, and a written checklist within 3 business days. This is NOT an on-site inspection, an IBHS Wildfire Prepared Home designation, a defensible-space certificate, or an insurance decision. It will NOT tell an insurer to bind coverage. It's an actionable plan so you can stop guessing and start doing. Use it two ways: 1. One-time plan — you get the checklist and do the work yourself or hand it to a landscaper/contractor. 2. First step into a site visit, insurance-documentation packet, contractor scope, or larger fuels/mitigation project. If we engage and sign a contract within 90 days, the $150 is credited. Bring the address, recent photos, any insurance or fire-department letter you have already received, and your real constraints (budget, HOA, physical limits, timeline).
