Prescribed Fire Refresher Training

Service Description

Presented as a service to the prescribed fire community, to inform burners about new trends, discuss safety incidents and "lessons learned" to make your burning operations safer (helping reduce that big, ugly "L word") & more efficient. We'll take a look at the extended climate & fire potential outlook for the fall-winter burn season from the National Interagency Fire Center and Eastern Area Coordination Center Predicitve Service Units, wrapping it all up with Q&A time. Your instructor will be Mark Howell, Wildland Fire Specialist and trainer, with 22 years of experience, 14 with USFS Fire, across all disciplines of wildland & prescribed fire except the "fly/jump out of airplanes" one, who now teaches wildland & prescribed fire to private landowners, contractors, & fire departments across the nation, including as cadre for the NWCG RX-300 Prescribed Fire Burn Boss course required for Federal Burn Bosses doing moderate/high-complexity burns. NOTE: This is NOT an NWCG training nor does it replace "RT-300 Burn Boss Refresher" for Federal Burn Bosses.
